Tesla is retrofitting Supercharger stations with its Magic Dock programme in New York State, enabling third-party electric vehicles to use its stations.
Tesla's Magic Dock programme allows electric vehicle drivers to charge their cars at Tesla Supercharger stations. The charging stations remain usable by Tesla owners with the proprietary connector. However, third-party EV drivers can also use the Supercharger stations with a CCS adapter, which unlocks when they use the Tesla App.

Tesla has retrofitted the first Magic Dock at the Supercharger station in Verona, New York. Additionally, two more Supercharger sites in Brewster and Red Hook have also been fitted with Magic Dock, while Supercharger stations in Albany and Utica have yet to receive the equipment. This suggests that New York State may become a testing ground for a charging programme for non-Tesla vehicles.
Tesla is committed to opening 7,500 Supercharger stations across the US by the end of 2024 to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. The expansion of the Magic Dock programme will help support the company's goal of encouraging the spread of electric vehicles across the US.
The aim of opening up Tesla chargers to other EV's brands is pretty simple; the more EV's using the Tesla network of chargers the faster it will allow Tesla to expand it's network in Australia. This is great news for brands such as BYD, Hyundai and the like.
